The January issue of Reason magazine features an excellent article by Radley Balko — a technology guide for those interested in filming the police — titled “How to Record the Cops.” I thought that it would be a great piece of writing for activists to distribute while doing outreach, so I designed an easy-to-assemble booklet/pamphlet version. You can download it here (.pdf format). For directions on how to print and assemble it, see this guide.
The booklet was designed in Open Office with some help from this template. The picture on the front cover was taken from Open Clip Art Library.
If you’d like to modify the file for any reason, you can use this .doc version which can be edited with word processing software. To convert the .doc to a .pdf, open it in Open Office then select File > Export as PDF. Radley Balko asks that if you distribute the article, you credit both him and Reason magazine and do not imply that he or Reason necessarily endorse any additional information you include or any groups that distribute your version.
Let me know how the booklet works out for you. Also, if you have any articles you think would make good booklets, drop me a link and I’ll take a look at them.

Great stuff, thanks!
Awesome! Ademo has said some great things about you, Dr. Q.
I think I’ve missed something, why are we using “Ademo”?
So, you create a pamphlet of “No Duh” informaiton and think you did something great? I could have written your pamplet in 4 lines, not 4 pages:
Small, cheap camera.
Get it online.
Search internet for ways to do both of the above.
Freedom advocate groups are thinking of ways to help.
Why so rude Marial?
Thanks for putting this together Dr.Q. This will be great when doing outreach.
