Jon Jones is a former UFC superstar who was recently the subject of a traffic stop for drag racing. According to his Wiki Page:
Jones is an American mixed martial artist and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. He is widely regarded as the best mixed martial arts fighter in the world and as one of the greatest fighters of all time. When he won the title in March 2011 at the age of 23, he became the youngest champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship‘s (UFC) history. He was ranked as the #1 light heavyweight fighter in the world by various media outlets for a number of years, and was also ranked the #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world by multiple publications. However, in April 2015, Jones was stripped of his title and was removed from the official rankings following his arrest on felony hit-and-run charges. He was reinstated into the UFC in October 2015.
According to TMZ.com:
Jones revealed the incident moments ago on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani — but adamantly denied drag racing.
TMZ Sports spoke with the Albuquerque PD — and a rep told us Jones was pulled over late Thursday night/early Friday morning for drag tracing.
He was issued 5 citations — the main was for drag racing. The other 4 citations were for “equipment issues” including a modified exhaust and an “issue” with his license plate.
Seems like just another day of police extortion at its finest and who doesn’t get upset when ticketed for BS like this. Aside from the drag racing allegation Jones was given multiple tickets for ‘vehicle’ infractions. To top it all off, these victimless crime tickets could ruin the second chance Jones has at his UFC career. So while this officer believes he was protecting the lives of people who were in danger he most likely just extorted money from Jones and possibly ruined his career.
I guess the “Fucking liar, pig” line was spot on considering the effects this could have on Jones’s livelihood.
