NYPD Cop Sues Department for $175 Million Dollars

Published On January 29, 2013 | By CopBlock | Articles

A NYPD officer claims in a lawsuit that he may be forced to retire due to a hand injury he sustained during a brutal beat down by fellow officers outside his Queens home.

Larry Jackson contends the cops – who responded to a 911 call from his wife about a gun-wielding man who had crashed their daughter’s birthday party – mistook him for the perpetrator because he’s black.

Jackson was beaten with police batons, kicked and doused with pepper spray by unidentified cops from the 113th Precinct last summer. He suffered a fracture to his shooting hand and will likely have to file for a disability retirement, according to the suit filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

“My client is looking forward to holding the police department accountable for their lack of response to this persistent problem,” said lawyer Eric Sanders.

This beatdown curtesy of your neighboring brothers in blue

  • Chris

    Thats just great!!!

We pay for their salaries, we pay for all the won lawsuits against the police department filed by the general public. And now we have to pay for lawsuits filed against the police department by one of their own kind! What’s wrong with you LEOs? I thought you guys were a brother hood.

  • Common Sense

just how much of ‘their salary’ do you pay?

  • Chris

    Hey Common Sense,

Is this supposed to be a test? And if I remember correctly your a COP aren’t you?

  • common sense is a cop

hey common why on every single page your hating the public. why do you even post on here, to start trouble? Pretty sad you waste your time on a cop hating website

Too bad, ass-wipe. How many people did you beat while you were a cop? Now that it happens to you, you want a pay-out? Deal with it like a non-cop would have too.

  • Common Sense

With your answer being no answer, that means you pay nothing…as I figured.

  • Shawn

Common is no cop. He’s probably the biggest cop hater here.

  • Whoaaaa Nellie

From Eric Sanders’ site: “Larry Jackson contends the cops – who responded to a 911 call from his wife about a gun-wielding man who had crashed their daughter’s birthday party – mistook him for the perpetrator because he’s black.

Jackson was beaten with police batons, kicked and doused with pepper spray by unidentified cops from the 113th Precinct last summer. He suffered a fracture to his shooting hand and will likely have to file for a disability retirement, according to the suit filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.”

Where are the rest of the facts? If there was a ‘gun-wielding suspect’ at his daughter’s birthday party, why didn’t Jackson kick the ever-loving crap out of him and end the situation right then and there? Why did Jackson allow himself to be completely ‘not there’ until on-duty police arrived, who then mistook him for a perp? Wow, there isn’t a lot of info in this story, and if some armed dork showed up at MY daughter’s party, I’d serve and protect his ass right back at him, on a plate and really hot…

Is this all that this story has? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

Of course the 113th Precinct would do some racist stuff like that. I’ve lived in the 113th my whole life. I know how they work. They are the laziest precinct in all of the NYPD. Serves them right for racial profiling.

  • Common Sense

Its certainly not a waste of time, its takes, on average, about 10 minutes for me to discover more to whatever bullshit article is posted here, and then either re-post the article in its entire form, post a courterpoint from another news source, or label it as 75-100% ficion.

..and again, most of you who comment here pay no taxes, so, in short, you don’t ‘pay their salaries.’

…and on another side note, 90% of cops aren’t ‘salary employees’ they’re hourly. Just for clarification.

  • Common Scents

Common, how in hell do you even think that you would know who comments here and how much they might pay in taxes???

On the flip side, you do bring a lot of credibility to this very good public service site and for that, I have to say, thanks for your contribution, even though this one story has more holes in it than Amadou Diallo.

  • Chris

So I pay my taxes. Does that mean I don’t pay their salaries or according to you their “hour wages”?

  • Common Sense

Really? How much? Please detail how much you pay in taxes that are directed to public safety.

  • steve

tough shit pay back is a bitch. 175 million is stupid. just retire him.
no telling how many citizens this guy has ruined. poor cop gets an asskicking by his own . now you know how it feels to be violated and how it feels to be treated black. fuck him.

  • steve

    To :: Common Sense ,

  • steve

TO COMMON SENSE NEVER MIND ANSWERING THE QUESTION IT WAS STUPID OF ME TO ASK BECAUSE YOU ARE A COP.

  • Chris

Hey Common Sense, how much do you pay? And I want details asshole! The bottom line is I pay for your fucking salary you piece of shit cop!!!

  • cookie

More garbage. If Mr. Jackson was at the party, why didn’t HE handle the uninvited guy with the gun? Why didn’t one of them tell the dispatch that an armed police officer was already there, so they would not be surprised by it? What happened to the uninvited armed man?

Or was the uninvited armed man LARRY JACKSON, and they are now both trying to cover up that fact?

  • steve

I HATE ALL COPS BECAUSE I’M A CRIMINAL ASSHOLE!!

  • Chris

Yeah! You tell him steve! I hate cops too cuz they always be stopping me when I be on my grind. If I want to sling some smack to the kids that’s my business.
