Lori Saldana is California Dreamin’

gun rights slaves.preview Lori Saldana is California DreaminLori Saldana is not only smarter than you but she has the power to dictate how, if at all, you’re able to use your own rightfully-acquired property. Or so she thinks.

Recently Saldana, who purports to represent San Diegans in the California state assembly, stated that “People should be free from the fear and the potential for violence firearms represent”.

Her solution? Allow known thugs responsible for countless homicides and assaults and the theft of billions of dollars of money and property each year who are guided by a belief that ‘doing their job’ justifies the  usurpation of the rights of others (shown by their adherence to the “thin blue line” and frequent testilying) to carry firearms while while denying the practice for those not initiated into the gang.

Does such a scenario – a community where only State actors like cops and soldiers have the ‘right’ to carry firearms – make you feel free from fear?

Saldana has already convinced enough of her colleagues in the assembly who too survive off the political means to support her efforts and she’s now waiting for those in the senate to do the same. But what she and unfortunately many of those who appear to be on the opposite end of this issue fail to grasp is that her actions and the eventual outcome of her efforts aren’t important.

Man-made legislation is no substitute for natural law and it can be justly ignored when it’s in direct conflict with the rights each of us have. Hell, Saldana’s own actions – her brazen disregard for words she’s agreed to uphold (the California Constitution) – proves this point and underscores the arbitrariness of such “legal”claims  and the inability of a piece of parchment to guarantee and safeguard our rights:

All people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights. Among these are enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and pursuing and obtaining safety, happiness, and privacy.

Can Saldana or any of her co-conspirators claim that their goal – victim disarmament – does not violate each individual’s inalienable rights and lessen their ability to defend their life and liberty?

Rather than allocate your scarce resources – your time, talent and treasure – to try to oppose Saldana or any similar man-made legislation, refuse to grant her or the State – the great fiction that rests on violence – any authority. Know that you have inherent rights that Saldana or a piece of paper, even if signed by 99.99% of others, cannot infringe upon. Such dictates have no authority over you. You own yourself. You have the right to defend yourself from aggressive force.

As Alfred Hambridge mentioned in a recent post on Strike The Root, “If you are not free to have a firearm at hand for self-defense, no matter where you go, you are not free.” Continued petitioning of Saldana or the backing of others who have different views to replace Saldana only further centralizes the power and authority of the political system. Do yourself and your neighbors and future generations a favor and ignore the State.

Seriously, I wish that were the case, and I strongly support the Second Amendment, but several people are under indictment at this moment for, supposedly, trying to declare war against the U.S.

    They will lose.

So, if only as a matter of strategy, I suggest lobbying hard on the gun laws, stay out of jail, don’t give them any excuse to arrest/shoot you, and pack an extra clip.

I agree with this approach. Begging politicians for “rights” just reinforces the myth of their legitimacy. Of course, a sensible self-defense strategy will avoid the threat of prison when ever possible. In many places open-carry is perfectly legal w/o a government permission slip.

Pete, I share your conviction that the lawmakers have no authority to restrict my inalienable right to bear arms.; however, I would prefer to avoid the inconvenience of being arrested for exercising my natural rights. In my opinion, there is no harm in telling a so-called representative that they have no authority to enforce something like AB 1934.

Why won’t you take the time to write a letter to the California Senate? I would understand your position if you were consistent and withdrew from the system entirely, but it appears that you had a license plate on your RV when you were involved with Motorhome Diaries.

Why are you willing to register your vehicle, but refuse to write a letter? Do you disagree that paying a vehicle registration fee recognizes government authority?

    I’m confused.
