Officials say 10 current and former metro Atlanta law enforcement officers are accused of accepting thousands of dollars to provide protection during drug deals….Agents learned from someone associated with the gang that officers were accepting cash payments to provide drug deal protection. Authorities say the payments were generally several thousand dollars per transaction, and some participated in several transactions.

you mean this really happens its not a movie. SARCASM.
Good Morning ladies and gentlemen. I am new to this site so I’ll get straight to the point. Here is a more in depth article on the arrests….
ATLANTA (CBSATLANTA.COM) –
In their patrol cars wearing their uniforms, with their department-issued guns in plain sight, ten metro Atlanta police officers protected drug dealers as they flooded the streets of Atlanta with cocaine, federal indictments show.
“When the cooperator put the word out on the street that he needed dirty cops to protect his drug deals, he got a lot of takers from police officers all across town,” said U.S. Attorney Sally Yates. “Remarkably, one of the police officers actually suggested that future drug deals be conducted in the parking lot of a local high school so they could exchange backpacks there, and that exchange of backpacks wouldn’t be something that caused suspicion.”
Yates said DeKalb County police Officers Dennis Duren and Dorian Williams, Forest Park police Sgts. Victor Middlebrook and Andrew Monroe, Atlanta police Officer Kelvin Allen , Stone Mountain police Officer Denoris Carter, MARTA police Officer Marquez Holmes, former DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office jail Officers Monyette McLaurin and Chase Valentine and Federal Protection Services contract Officer Sharon Peters were arrested Tuesday.
Yates said the officers took thousands in payouts for their work with single transactions anywhere from a few thousand dollars to as high as $7,000.
“This is a troubling day for law enforcement in our city. The law enforcement officers charged today sold their badges by taking payoffs from drug dealers that they should have been arresting,” Yates said. “They not only betrayed the citizens they were sworn to protect, they also betrayed the thousands of honest, hard-working law enforcement officers who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. We will continue to work with our local law enforcement partners to pursue this corruption wherever it lies.”
The officers were charged with numerous crimes including assisting with drug trafficking, receiving illegal payouts and using firearms during the commission of a crime.
Allen is a 20-year veteran with the Atlanta Police Department. The Zone 6 patrol officer was immediately removed from duty following his arrest.
“It is absolutely horrendous,” said Atlanta police Chief George Turner. “If you look at this man you would never think he would do anything like this. We will not stand for any officers stepping on the other side of the law.”
Turner said another officer who has been on the force for three years, also is under investigation by federal agents for also using his position as an officer to protect drug dealers. The officer’s name was not released because Turner said the federal indictment has been sealed.
DeKalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown said the two former jailers, Valentine and McLaurin, were terminated from their positions more than three years ago for issues surrounding alcohol abuse. According to the federal indictments, the men were acting as though they were still law enforcement officers, wearing their uniforms and showing official badges from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators said McLaurin went so far as to suggest shooting another drug purchaser if the deal went awry.
Brown said his department is now launching an investigation into how McLaurin and Valentine kept their uniforms and gained access to new badges or still had their old ones.
Five other people were arrested in connection with the case, including Elizabeth Coss and Shannon Bass of Atlanta, Gregory Lee Harvey of Stone Mountain, Alexander B. Hill of Ellenwood and Jerry B. Mannery Jr. of Tucker.
IF THESE CHARGES STICK (WHICH I AM CERTAIN THAT THEY WILL)THIS IS A CLEAR CASE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.
THANKS…..
THE REALIST!!!
Wow. You mean the police are yet again holding their own accountable?
As I have been saying for years, the police and criminals are simply business partners. Have you ever stopped to think about why there are so many criminals, literal armies of them, walking the streets? The prison system is little more than “Crime University, as well as a revolving door.
Casual, low level criminals are given extreme sentences, while dedicated criminals are released for three reasons. 1, to frighten the public, thus allowing the police to demand a bigger budget and more power, 2, as a means for the “justice system” to justify their existence, and 3, as minions of the police, ready and willing to perform all the dirty tricks and tasks that the police do not or can not do themselves. This includes assault, drug distribution, providing a pool of informants, etc.
The sooner we all figure out that this is what the police are doing all day, every day, the sooner we can get the problem under control.
***POLICE OFFICER RAPES A THREE MONTH OLD INFANT AND A ONE YEAR OLD CHILD!***
When you see common sense, t., underoath, psosgt and all the other shills spew their boot-licking propaganda here on Cop Block, remember, THIS IS WHO THEY ARE, THIS IS WHAT THEY STAND FOR, AND THIS IS WHAT THEY DEFEND!
Wichita KS police officer Officer Joseph T. McGill, 28, was convicted today of committing a sexual act on a 3-month-old child and a 1-year-old child. Officer McGill pleaded guilty in January 2012 in an unrelated case to sexual battery while on duty as a police officer and was sentenced to three years probation. Those charges stemmed from separate incidents in November 2010 and February 2011. The judge set sentencing for March 1.

Actually, it is the federal agencies holding the corrupt locals accountable. And it doesn’t happen near as much as it should. Of course, being on the inside as you are, you already knew all that, right? LOL.
Right. But you retards complain about them too. Keep your accusations straight. Maybe you should get a story board and write it all down. Help you to keep your arguments straight. You claim to be and engineer….maybe you can design and build one. But somehow, I doubt it. Your not much brighter or more truthful than your buddy Centurion. He is a flat out liar…your more of a fool, a court jester maybe.
