another BIG payday! i just wish everybody with a camera phone would have whipped them out to film what they did to her this is the word we need to spread just like in la there IS safety in numbers!
Police officials stand by their original statement that the officer was completely justified in all actions he took, and did nothing wrong whatsoever. However, since it was a Tuesday, they decided to give her $1.4 million dollars that they had laying around and hadn’t yet decided how to spend.
bus is the background says CtTransit…. Connecticut…
Typical – Another stupid COP! I got a badge, so I can do whatever I want…
I am all for standing up to thugs but what makes me cringe is when people like her say “oh thats assault” “you can’t do that sir, your assaulting me” “i can do this” or “you can’t do that”……so naive and ignorant.
…and they scared Skittles, my cat..
Actually, depending on where they are, it’s called Battery. Either way, that is what the cop did. He had zero authority to issue that order or enforce it. That makes his choice to use force a criminal act.
The ignorance was that of a cop, who thinks any order he gives has legal authority.
Cops have known for years now that it is legal to film, and you don’t need their permission and they can’t stop you. Yet they do it anyway.
T keeps telling us cops aren’t against filming and all that BS stuff about how good cops are. Funny how they don’t seem to live up to T’s claims. And of course this cop won’t actually be punished for what he did, which was a crime.
I can’t wait to see the other camera angle. What’s the background of this story?
ROFL! Just when you think cops cant get any more stupid, you see clips like this. I like how the plain-clothes snitch kept a flashlight near his face like a little coward. Looks like the taxpayers are gonna be footing the bill for yet another fat settlement check. Good news is, the average person is becoming aware that the cops create more problems than they solve. The woman with the camera knew her rights, and she knew the cop was a threat to her community, and she took the appropriate actions. All that is left now is to sit back and let common sense and all the other bootlickers whine like little girls LOL!
***POLICE OFFICER RAPES A THREE MONTH OLD INFANT AND A ONE YEAR OLD CHILD!***
When you see common sense, t., underoath, psosgt and all the other shills spew their boot-licking propaganda here on Cop Block, remember, THIS IS WHO THEY ARE, THIS IS WHAT THEY STAND FOR, AND THIS IS WHAT THEY DEFEND!
Wichita KS police officer Officer Joseph T. McGill, 28, was convicted today of committing a sexual act on a 3-month-old child and a 1-year-old child. Officer McGill pleaded guilty in January 2012 in an unrelated case to sexual battery while on duty as a police officer and was sentenced to three years probation. Those charges stemmed from separate incidents in November 2010 and February 2011. The judge set sentencing for March 1.
More info please!!! Like, names, location, police department, and please tell us the details of the story!!!
@Daner: Touch a cop. No intent, no follow through. Just touch a cop. Now enjoy your assault charge. If somebody walks up to you and tries to take something from you physically, that is assault. Battery is the act of causing physical harm. She didn’t say he was battering her. She said he was assaulting her and while we can’t see what actually happened, it’s pretty clear he grabbed at her recording device.
The people that were there should’ve restrained the aggressor and held him until such a time that real police could’ve arrived to charge him for assault and impersonating a cop.
And it is things like this that are wrong with cops. If you are so busy you can’t deal with men who break restraining orders, or prowlers and rapist who break in and torment women… why do you have the time to harrass people for legally filming you breaking the law? Just let them film, if you were a good cop you would have nothing to worry about, you would be on here as a good cop, but you are not that cop are you. Keep it up and bad cops will go get other jobs and we will have only the good cops willing to do this job.
Without background the video is pointless.
Connecticut is an ‘all party’ consent state. Glik doesn’t apply. Connecticut, if this is where it took place, attempted to enact legislation to ‘protect’ those filming police (HB 245) but its laughable.
What’s laughale is police fearing a recording, whatcha got to hide? Oh yeah… everything.
Background found by PINAC reader:
@Rick, what other camera angle? Do you mean the guy on the other side with a light?
I posted a zoomed in screen grab at PINAC. I now believe him to be holding a small flashlight like a cigar.
“Clean the banks” protest. Still trying to get some mileage out of OWS huh? How’s that working out for ya?
Common, I find it curious that you seem to support the Wall Street types that robbed the country blind and almost brought the country down. Lapdog much?
more follow up it would appear that she won her charges were dismissed and she did NOT sue http://www.photographyisnotacrime.com/2013/02/26/more-details-on-incident-involving-connecticut-cop-assaulting-woman-for-recording/#
another worthless cop abusing the badge. this asshole cop needs to get bitch slapped
This is in Downtown Hartford. The Church directly behind the officer is on Main St, just north of the Gold St intersection. I walk by there pretty often, and recognized the area right away. The scaffolding is there because the building opposite the Church (Formerly Travelers Insurance) is being renovated.
It’s best to take part in a contest for among the best blogs on the web. I will advocate this website!
