In Oakland: 2000-2011 of the 89 reported “Officer Involved Shootings”, only 5 of the people shot were white.
On February 22nd, 2013, OPD, CHP and members of the Alameda Sheriff’s Department descended upon an apartment in West Oakland in search of a possibly armed man.
On this particular day, the neighborhood was West Oakland, the location was MacArthur Blvd and Market St. As police surrounded the property in question, the man who was inside and distraught, began breaking windows and yelling.
It was the perfect equation for what is known in police circles as “justifiable homicide”. If an officer can articulate how they were in “fear for their safety”, or the “safety of others”, then they know they can shoot with impunity.
To the surprise of onlookers, OPD did not shoot the man. Any guesses as to why?
Because t and/or common and/or underoath were not on shift?
Or because, like the rest of the “criminal justice” system, whites rank a little higher on the hierarchy than minorities. Not much, but definitely some.
Why would they shoot someone for “breaking windows and yelling”?
Probably because they knew they were on camera.
Probably because they didn’t need to…….drrrrrr

The officers did their jobs. The only idiotic thing the guy who put up the video has done is to try and make it seem like the PD are so bad. I didn’t see any activists standing there trying to get the guy out of his building. OF course the guy who posted this video blocks people who don’t agree with him. That plainly spells out that these activists don’t follow anything they preach. They are hypocrites. This idiot who posted this video can’t even get a video of some “corrupt’ cops because there just aren’t any.
Once again, the police doing it right.
Shooting a bunch of blacks is “doing it right”?
My guess is that the nut in the standoff was a COP????
You can hear him talking about “brothers” when he is at the back of the cruiser.

Well, how about examining how to handle a situation without a gun. If these guys can, anyone can. Same thing we say with the puppy killing. Mail, ups, fedex, ect all manage to do their job without popping lassie. Maybe cops can learn something.
Wow, so now we’re suggesting that there is an agenda by cops in Oakland to shoot black folks? And the black cops are even in on it!

IDk, this article is suggesting alot…I think thats very poor work by Cop Block. You couldve at least articlulated it, or elaborated on your point. The police had many black officers….im stumped.
