An elderly woman’s dog was shot to death by police during a drug raid. Check out the video from the Associated Press here.
Instead of addressing whether or not the dog actually posed a danger to the police or whether their response was appropriate, I only want to point out that this never would have happened if there were no drug laws on the books or funding for drug raids.
If these cops can’t find anything better to do than strongarm their way into elderly peoples’ home to look for marijuana, it’s time for them to trim their force down.

I don’t really know whether, as you say, “If these cops can’t find anything better to do than strongarm their way into elderly peoples’ home to look for marijuana, its time for them to trim their force down. I don’t know whether they need to “trim their force down”, as you say. Yes, I do agree completely that ALL POLICE need to stop the blatantly psychotic, increasingly militaristic, Unconstitutional tactics of the “war on (some)drugs(sometimes). Leave otherwise peaceful potheads, dopers, drunks, etc., alone. They are suffering enough. But I think this is a better thought. Just as we have (supposedly) Civilian control of the Military, so too, do we citizens need to re-take control of our Police Forces. I would love to see 2, 3, or 4 officer teams doing REAL COMMUNITY POLICING, and seriously investigating – and SOLVING – serious crimes. Research the “crime clearance rate” for the police. It’s pathetic. No wonder there’s so many unsolved rapes, burglaries, murders! All our best cops are too busy chasing little Johnny pothead. Sad, sad, sad. But, may God Bless America, Semper Fi, & HOO-AH!~bradford.
