‘Pelham Officer Fired for Misconduct’

A town police officer accused of numerous violations of department policy has been fired, the town announced on Wednesday.

Officer Eugene Stahl was terminated as of Tuesday.

Stahl, a Pelham officer for 12 years, was the focus of a public disciplinary hearing before selectmen last month, where he was accused of:

Loudly berating a female drunken-driving suspect in a profanity-laced interrogation.

Drawing his gun on two apparently unarmed teens during a traffic stop.

Being heard by a Pelham police dispatcher on the radio speaking in a profane manner toward his superior officer, Lt. Brian McCarthy, and broadcasting his desire to punch one female civilian he encountered on duty “right in the face.”

Crashing his cruiser while driving with unnecessary and “life-threatening” speed – at 50 mph above the listed 30 mph limit, according to the state police accident reconstruction team’s report – en route to become the third officer to respond to a Pelham homeowner’s complaint.

Small town politics. Such is life. Then again, it is liberal New Hampshire. He’ll catch on somewhere else if his appeal falls short. I hope they covered their bases when they termed him.

  • Keith

Perfect example. This clown has MULTIPLE offenses, and people still worry if he can be fired. Sad, but true, and why most of us feel the way we do.

But I thought this stuff gets swept under the rug. I guess the cop was held accountable for his actions again.

PELHAM – A town police officer accused of numerous violations of department policy has been fired, the town announced on Wednesday.

The town said in a statement issued by Pelham police that there will be no further comment on the dismissal.

Attorney David Slawsky, representing Stahl before selectmen, said during the meeting that Police Chief Joseph Roark was attempting “to hang his case on four or five minutes of video in the 12-year career of this very fine police officer.”

I see that selectmen are the equivalent of a city council where I live. Civilians decided his fate after all.

“But I thought this stuff gets swept under the rug. I
guess the cop was held accountable for his actions
    again.”

Eventually, maybe, if the firing holds. 9 out of 10 get their job back. And how many offenses did it take to bring it to an end? Nor are all departments equal when it comes to discipline.

Look at Officer Hareless. Early on he took a guy iut of view of the camera and beat him. That should have been the end of his career then.

  • Casual Observer

Those who see this as the typical means of discipline for renegade police officers in the U.S., are clearly not paying attention.

  • ovator

Good! That’s one less Piece-of-shit we don’t have to worry about.

  • Common Sense

Phelum PD has 20 cops. Town of 12,000. 98% white. I don’t think you could get anymore white unless you moved to Salt Lake.

  • Casual Observer

“Common Sense” is only interested in research when it backs up an assumption: Salt Lake City is only 75% white.

Big fucking deal. There will always be one bad apple in any profession. Look at the fuckers who are activists on this website.

Im 60 and I just got my old job back aster 10 years.

  • RadicalDude

Thank goodness he will not menace any more people under color of law.

I have to admit my first choice was small-town politics, after all look at the list: profanity directed at citizens and direct superiors; pointing a gun at unarmed teens; making terroristic threats against a female (that was just for fun); and crashing his cruiser by excessive speed. It all smacks of small-town politics, no doubt. I do wonder what big-city politics means.

    JPQ,

Since when is a cop not a civilian? It is called a civilian police force for a reason. The dichotomy of civilian and non-civilian is a military one, not by local government. If the police would like to be judged by the UCMJ, and held to it, I’d give them my vote.

The cop is a civilian, so civilians deciding his fate is appropriate.

While doing my best to ignore the mind-dead troll, this “There will always be one bad apple in any profession” so often used by police needs a reply. It’s just so ignorant of the real meaning.

The phrase is “one bad apple spoils the bushel” because the corruption of that one bad apple taints the other apples to the extent, at it’s worst, that the taint can’t be washed off (I’m already there on taint, don’t waste my time or others), and leads to the corruption of the other apples. So it was applied to humans and their organizations to make plain that corruption of one can, and often does, lead to the corruption of many. To use it as an excuse, it’s only one, shows no understanding of where “one bad apple” comes from or what it means.

  • Dr Kranknstein

Jesus age fuck that chick was annoying.

With that said though after reading the charges that got him fired. I can say this man is in some serious need of anger management.

  • Jason Free 123

Shawn – It is none of your business who the PD deals with it’s employees. If someone works for the park district and an employee is disciplined you don’t need to have you fucking nose in it and the the park district operates off of tax dollars and serves the public. You fucking activists do not need to have your fucking noses in everything. You assholes don’t know anything about police work to start with except what you see when you are arrested for breaking the law.

What a complete lie: “Ron Paul says, “All activists lie all the time everytime””

more departments should follow in pelhams foot steps and fire any officer who has laurie issues, discipline issues, attitudes, the god complex, or if the department has received more than 2 complaints on the officer, i am talking to manchester NH police chief David Mara (lead gangster in blue) he needs to fire two thirds plus of his force then resign as he has done nothing for manchester he says crime is under control how the hell is that even feasible since there have been 100 plus burlaries, and 50 robberies in less than a month’s timeframe

1 bad apple???? How about 90% plus bad apples. Of course, who would expect an ignorant psychopathic animal raping troll to know such a thing, right? Because he’s an ignorant psychopathic animal raping troll.

  • Jason Free 123

Annonypussy certain – What’s the matter pussy? Not getting enough attention on the website? You make these ridiculous rants trying to take the spot light off of yourself because I posted a couple of videos that showed you getting caught molesting goats and other barnyard animals. I have proven those to be true because your $2 whore mother sent them to me to be posted on cuntblock. You also have not denied they were you. You are a sad fucked up little goat raping freak. You won’t use your real name because you know the police will nab you for other brutal animal rapings. Isn’t that right? You would rather skate through life raping your goats and other barnyard animals without being caught. Guess what cunt? You were busted!!!! Now you have to live with it. I cant’ wait until they throw you in jail. Can you imagine what kind of hell your life will be when you get to prison? The inmates will be dressing you up like a goat. VaBOOM!!!
