Last year, Shandy Cobane, a racist thug employed by the Seattle Police Department, assaulted Martin Monetti, Jr. while he was lying on the ground compliantly. “I’m going to beat the fucking Mexican piss out of you, homey. Feel me?” Cobane taunted. Then he and a fellow officer, Mary Woollum, began stomping on Monnetti’s head and arm. Several other officers were present, but none intervened. The stomps left visible marks on Monetti’s forehead.
Shortly after the unprovoked attack on Monetti, the police realized he wasn’t the person they were looking for and allowed him to leave.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Cobane will not lose his job over the incident. Instead he is simply being given a 30 day suspension without pay. No criminal charges will be filed against him.
Cobane insists that he’s learned his lesson and the Seattle Police Department says it will will not tolerate incidents like this in the future, but there is no reason to believe them. The whole message of this affair is that if you’re a cop, you don’t have to worry if you act like a violent, bigoted thug because even if there’s indisputable evidence of your crimes, nothing bad will happen to you. Police brutality cases like this one will not stop until police are held to the same standards as everyone else.
What is the penalty for someone of the non-privileged class who detains another person at gunpoint, and then stomps on their head? Probably some jail time, I would imagine.
People need to attack and snipe those arrogant mother fucker pigs. Lead piercing to go with their badge.
This guy needs to be arrested, tried, found guilty and put in jail with the general population so some Mexicans can ‘stomp the pig Pig piss outta him’. A month off even without pay is inexcusable. If I did the same thing, it would be called a hate crime and I’d be in jail – period! But I guess there’s a different set of laws for police. Seattle needs to remember Rodney King!
this is sad the people we pay to protect us. Look at all the cops there this is normal for them they see no wrong in this. If you comit a crime the punisment is up to the juge or jurror. There are some very good cops out there thankyou and please stop this.
If the justice system isn’t seeking any real justice in this case, maybe someone out there will create their own justice.
When you evade responsibility for your actions like this, you get what you get, and nobody will feel bad.

@Walter: I think I understand your position, but I would bet money (if I really had any) that the posts you are referring to are people who are venting about the injustice and double standards.
At the same time, if those who are paid to enforce the laws are being shown, over and over, to be nothing more than violent criminals themselves, what are law abiding people supposed to do? Do we not have a natural right to self defense?
@Walter, free speech is not truly free, if it does not protect UNPOPULAR SPEECH as well. That being said, the moderator under his property rights does have the right to delete unpopular speech if they so choose. But at a site about law and constitutional-ism of such laws, it wouldn’t seem right.

The SHEER amount of criminal actions by police officers is astounding…….I have NO trust or RESPECT for officers anymore. How can I. It doesn’t take a math whiz to figure that if this much is being caught on film the actual number of incidents must be dangerously exponential. Just based on the sources of information I can find in the media and DOJ/FBI I come up that nearly every jurisdiction in the USA has an act of SERIOUS police corruption at least once every 12 days. If an airliner fell from the sky every 12 days we would shut down the airlines……..

People need to vent I get that but to say all police are pigs or they all take advantage of their authority is just rediculous. These cops are scumbags just like alot of other people and should be dealt with accordingly. You shouldnt have blind hate for any-all police they occupy a necessary position in society and deserve respect to an extent but somthing needs to be done in the justice system to prevent things like this from EVER happening. Just remember cops arent nazis theyre people and alot of people have the best of intentions when others are just total pieces of s#*+.
