In another recent video from Liberty On Tour, Adam and Pete visit Philadelphia to distribute flyers with a fellow activist to promote the idea of liberty. They also find several police cruisers parked illegally and use them to demonstrate that police and other government officials are often held to a different standard than those they claim to work for.
Hitting the Streets in the City of Brotherly Love

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Last Saturday our bud Mandrik (of George’s Famous Baklava fame) joined us to do some outreach on Philly’s busy South Street. While he distributed flyers that had Liberty Radio Network on one side and FreeKeene.com on the other side Adam and I handed-out The World’s Smallest Political Quiz from the Advocates for Self-Government.
We had a lot of great conversations and overall people – with the exception of some of those wearing badges – were really receptive.
As Mandrik points-out near the end of the video, most folks have a natural affinity for the ideas liberty, so while engaging others on the street may not be part of your normal routine, it can have a very profound impact. And it gets easier the more often you do it. So grab a couple of friends and make it happen!

The people of Philly gathered together to decide whats best for all its called democracy
NO parking sighs are there so that a space will be provided for emergency vehicles. Police are not acting above the law, they are using the space provided so that they can do their jobs. Jobs that the free thinking local people have decided are necessary.
DO you think NO parking signs are placed there randomly? DO you think childish apeals to rile people up without thinking are going to help your cause.
DO you disagree with signs telling people not to go the wrong way on a freeway. They are there for a GOOD purpose. most clear thinking adults who care to find out why things are done understand that. OR most people have common sense enough to pick there battles so that they dont look like angry high school Kids complaining about homework.
If those parking places are for emergency vehicles then wouldn’t they say “Emergency Vehicle Parking Only”, instead of “No Parking”?
I believe no parking says it all without having to wast tax payers money.making separate signs they both do the same thing.
No Parking does say it all, unless the definition of “no” and “parking” has changed.
The reason corners have no parking is because of pedestrian safety. Cars parked at the corner prevents pedestrians from seeing oncoming traffic and prevent oncoming traffic from seeing pedestrians. It is called daylighting intersections. http://www.streetfilms.org/daylighting-make-your-crosswalks-safer/#comments
So that drunk firefighter who was thanking the police for protecting people before crossing the intersection was actually being put in MORE danger by those police officers actions.
GOOD point thank you for looking that up.
Honestly a different aproach would allow them to be taken seriously they just come off as angry. Angry does not sell the whole Anarchy thing.
Maybe we did not watch the same video. I saw no anger from Adam and Pete. What approach would you suggest?
I wouldn’t disagree with signs telling people not to go the wrong way on a freeway. I would very much disagree with cops (or anyone else) that routinely decided those signs didn’t apply to them and drove the wrong way, regardless.
Why dont you go to the town hall meetings and tell them that its a dangerous situation .
Why dont you write to the editor of the Newspaper, Dear sir,. I realize that the police are told to patrol street corners as part of there job in protecting the people of the town from angry drunk fireman. We need to create extra parking for emergency vehicle.
DID anyone try that first? I see your point about a lot of things here on this site but I think this sort of thing will be viewed by the public the exact same way I took it.
WE older folks look at things differently, and WE have the money and the power.
Those would be great approaches if our goal was to get ore parking for emergency vehicles, but that is not the goal. The goal is hold police accountable for their actions and to see them obey the laws they expect us to obey.
I applaud Adam and Pete for having the guts to speak out directly to these officers who think they are above the law. If only more people would do so.
I also applaud Adam and Pete for doing constructive outreach to communities throughout the country.
Rich – The shortest distance between point A and point B is always a straight line. Town hall meetings and letters to the editor don’t accomplish the type of reform we need in police departments across the country. The best solution is to change the attitudes & behaviors of individual police officers. By changing individual minds, the possibility increases of those individuals acting to change collective policies.
What a bunch of pussies.
I give the cops credit for not caving your skull in douchebag.

In Pennsylvania, any emergency vehicle is aloud to stop and stand anywhere so you cant give them a ticket. Also its a Saturday night on South Street, come on guys dont you have anything better to do then harass cops about parking?????
