Quartzsite reform movement and libertarian activist Michael Roth was one of two individuals arrested for chalking Quartzsite’s town hall among other locations prior to last night’s town council meeting, according to Jennifer Jones, reform activist and publisher of the Desert Freedom Press.
A call to the La Paz County Jail (928.669.6141) quickly confirmed that Mike Roth and Dana Stadler are in custody. Each of them will be arraigned today on twelve counts of criminal damage, one count of conspiracy, and one count of criminal trespass. Reportedly, the town of Quartzsite recently invested in a new camera system around the vicinity of their town hall and police station therefore it is highly likely that Qtown’s Chalking 2 were caught on tape. Ademo made a phone call this morning and spoke with Sgt. Frasto, as well as another officer who refused to identify himself – something the police would arrest you for, about the arrest (see video below).
The chalking was a preliminary event to National Chalk The Police Day, coming this Saturday, October 1st. to Quartzsite (event here) and many other venues around the country.Though it’s alleged that Michael and Dana chalked threats, something I personally wouldn’t advocate doing, it seem that the police have an on going issue with Michael and could be targeting him. According to the WorldNetDaily:
Residents of the Arizona town that has become a YouTube sensation after police forcibly removed a woman speaking at a recent public meeting are now experiencing firearms confiscation by the government.
The stunning action is taking place in Quartzsite, Ariz., where Town Councilman Joe Winslow has prompted the seizure of guns from local gem dealer and online entrepreneur Michael Roth because Roth allegedly glared at the councilman, blocked his entrance to Town Hall and called him a “turd.” Karen Slaughter, the elected justice of the peace for the region, issued a harassment injunction against Roth on behalf of Winslow, the lawmaker who called for the silencing of pet groomer and publisher Jennifer Jones in the infamous video.
That original video of the June 28 town-hall fiasco posted on YouTubehas been viewed more than 120,000 times. Read more:Escalation in Arizona: Firearms confiscatedhttp://www.wnd.com/?pageId=326601#ixzz1ZGXPfSNf
So I can’t help but ask, are the Quartzsite Police really interested in keeping the public safe from chalk? Or did they see an opportunity to cage Michael and Dana in order to silence them or speaking out against local tyrants?? Seems the police and city council are working to control the residents of the town and squash anyone who speaks out against them.
More on the Mike Roth arrest as the story progresses…
More Information about Quartzsite Police
In Quartzsite, even the police are suffering at the hands of this corrupt chief. Here, good cops are literally fired for being honest. Let’s take a moment to note the brevity of this situation: Cops are being fired for doing the right thing. With all the cases of police misconduct and brutality happening across the country, Quartzsite’s officials have the sheer nerve to fire good cops for maintaining their integrity and doing the right thing.
The Quartzsite 8 put their careers on the line in order to stand up for what is right and refuse to obey unlawful orders. In return, they have been treated as criminals, forced to remain under house arrest, and terminated from their jobs. What kind of a screwed up message does this send to every person living in America? That you better not stand up to tyrannical government…or else? That integrity is to be punished and corruption rewarded? That the concept of right and wrong is based on purely arbitrary whim? Here’s another angle on it: The theory is that Quartzsite is a small model scale of America. As per their sworn statements, the Quartzsite 8 were ordered by Police Chief Jeff Gilbert to violate citizens’ rights with the sanction of some or all of the town council. If the small model scale theory is consistently applied, what in God’s name are cops in a place like NYC or LA being ordered to do?
What a screwed up concept it truly is to fire good cops for being honest, or to punish any government employee for exposing government corruption. The day it becomes acceptable to do so may as well be considered the anniversary of the death of justice in America. Bradley Manning is already sitting in prison for exposing information that catalyzed liberation movements in entire countries, therefore we are already part of the way there. Without justice, what do we have left? If government doesn’t exist to provide means for justice than it is truly unfit to exist.
