Welcome To CopBlock.org
Welcome to the new, yet still under construction, Cop Block website. I’d like to thank Nick Spanos, who donated the domain name and server space, along with Jason Talley, who donated a theme and his time, for helping to improve Cop Block. The Cop Block Tumblr page will remain up for about another week. At that time the content to there will stop.
I ask for your patience while we make this transition to WordPress, as I have little experience with WP and will be learning as I go. So if anyone has some skills or good tutorials on WP I’d be interested to hear from you, CopBlock@gmail.com. Even if you don’t have skills with HTML, widgets or web design in general we’d still like to hear your feedback about the site. As you can see I started a Bad Cop page, where I hope to keep track of Bad officers, the departments phone number, the crime or offense committed and the outcome or current status of. Though not sure that’s the way it will come about, I think it might be something worth having. I would also like to hear your thoughts on what else to provide here? Should we have an educational tab, with links, videos and more? Any and all thoughts are welcomed.
The new web site is not the only thing that is new with Cop Block. Over the weekend I set up an on line voice mail number for all of us to use. This way if you don’t want to give up personal information while calling police stations, you don’t have to. You can simply state that you’re a member of Cop Block and are free to use this number (206.279.1258) when asked for one. It would be nice if you could drop an email to us stating basic info (city, department, date and in regards to what), so we know when to expect a call. It might not be a bad idea to record your calls, as Cop Block would be happy to post them to our YouTube Channel.
With that I look forward to another productive week of letting officers know they don’t have extra rights because they carry a badge. And as always, we’re looking for folks to take video of police officers breaking the law (minor or major), to do guest blogs, forward links/stories to us and help with web design work. It also helps to share our post, FB Fan Page and Twitter accounts with others. Thanks to all of you who do this already, much appreciated.
