Former Duke Player Nolan Smith Says Police Pulled Guns On Him
A former Duke basketball player says Durham, NC Police pulled their guns on him during a routine traffic stop for no apparent reason. Nolan Smith took to Twitter soon after the incident to express his outrage at what he saw as an excessive display of force.
The Durham Police told ABC11 that Smith was pulled over for a possible tint violation for which they later issued a warning ticket. They say that Smith took several blocks to pull his vehicle over and that due to heavy tinting in the back they could not safely see inside the vehicle.
So obviously they HAD to pull out lethal weapons. Makes sense.
Smith has not filed a formal complaint against the department.
