Seneca Police Defy Physics to Shoot and Kill Man, 19, In His Car
Seneca, South Carolina police shot and killed a young man on Sunday July 26, 2015. The entire incident began as an investigation into petty drug deals and ended with a man dead. The reason given for the shooting was that the officer feared for his safety because he felt the young man had the car ‘aimed at me’. Even on its own that is a pretty weak excuse for shooting and killing someone who had not harmed anyone. Yet when one considers basic geometry, it becomes impossible.
The shot(s) that killed Zachary Hammond, 19, were fired through the side window of the drivers side door. Let that sink in for a minute. How can you fire at a person through a side window if the car is positioned in such a way that is is aimed at you? Are police powers so great that the can defy the very laws of physics? Does having a shiny badge grant extra-natural rights and powers as well as legal ones?
As you can see from the illustration, the angles at which one can reasonably be expected to shoot a bullet through a side window at the driver happen to be angles in which the car could not possibly be considered ‘aimed at’ the shooter. So either the officer has some supernatural capabilities with his weapon, or the Seneca police are lying.
While Zachary’s family mourn the loss of their loved ones, the police continue to lie to them. And as per usual, pending investigation, the cops are covering up their lie by refusing to release any evidence in the case, such as the dash cam taken from the scene. If these cops have nothing to hide, why are they withholding evidence? And why would they make their lies so amateurishly incompetent that anyone with a basic grasp of geometry could see through them?
The cops think you are stupid. They think you are ignorant fools who could not figure out the truth if it magically whizzed out of a gun at impossible angles and flew into your head. Why else would they feed you such obvious lies? Why else would they continue to spread misinformation that flies in the face of common sense? There is only one reason I can think of, and that is because they think that we are too dumb to figure this out. They think that they are so much better and smarter than us that we could never reason for ourselves and will believe anything they say.
And that saddest part is that it is all too often true. We have lost our collective minds, as a species. We have allowed ourselves to be dumbed down, lied to and patronized. Not because we are too dumb. Every human has great potential for intelligence and critical thinking. Yet if we allow fear, laziness or wishful blindness and apathy to control us, we are no smarter than they think we are. We are no better than they treat us.
Are you willing to be lied to? Are you willing to be treated like a fool time and again because it’s the easy way out? Are you letting family-ties or friendships blind you to the truth about the police state? Then you are a fool, and even worse, a fool by choice. Do not believe that anybody takes your foolish opinions or ideas seriously, because neither the police nor the sensible people who have grown critical of them are taking you seriously.
The world suffers fools lightly…and never for very long.
