Code Enforcement Robs Local Business Owner
A man was operating a fruit cart on a busy intersection in San Bernardino, CA. Three code enforcement officers were there as well. Unfortunately, they were not patronizing this local business, but instead were caught on camera using force to shut it down. When the cameraman asked why they were taking the fruit instead of going after bad people they answered, “There is a right way to do things.” As if to insinuate that voluntary interactions without the permission of the government were somehow “wrong.”
Code enforcement is nothing more than extortion. You are paying them to keep them from messing with you. If you pay off the permit, the states henchmen will leave you alone. If you choose to disregard their attempts to gain your consent in their racket, they use force against you in order to shut you down. Its classism, and its wrong.
You have the right to operate a business, and interact voluntarily with others in a manner that’s mutually benefits you both. Anyone trying to interfere in that transaction by claiming you don’t have the permission of a gang of thugs, is furthering a criminal agenda.
I talked to the man who shot the video. He’s not a regular cop blocker but this made him angry. When I asked him why he chose to start filming he had this to say:
I was mad about the fact that they were harassing the poor guy when he was just trying to make a living to support his family, and for them just to come and take his fruit away isn’t right. They could have just told him to go home or something, but to take his fruit away and laugh about it isn’t right.
This is definitely one of the top 5 jobs you don’t want your friends seeing you do, so let’s make these heroes famous. Please, share this video. If you are available please call or email the code enforcement office and voice your discontent with their employees actions.
