Officer Gets Caught Smoking Something in the Bushes
David Whitt and Jacob Crawford of “We cop watch” Saint Louis recently had this encounter. In this video you’re going to see an officer refuse to identify himself by covering up his badge. There’s two possibilities for this to happen. One, they think the guy with a camera is an idiot because he’s following cops and might make them look bad. And two, because they have something to hide. It works both ways, regular people who don’t want to give up their information for no reason, it’s either because they’re guilty of something, or because they think the cop is an idiot for asking such pointless questions.
In this encounter, officer “Jon Doe” of the Saint Louis police department district 5, is the only officer that covers his badge when asked. Copwatchers responded to “shots fired” in a neighborhood of the Central West End of St. Louis. Officers temporarily detained a non involved person in the vicinity. Upon the completion of the stop as seen in the video, Officer Davis, the only officer to be forthcoming and transparent, identified himselself, and explained to Copwatchers the nature of the stop. While Jon Doe’s partner, officer Davis, had no issue talking to the camera man and identifying himself, officer “Jon Doe” tells the camera man while driving off, “get the fuck out of here.”
When playing back the encounter, you’ll see the camera zoom in and see something that many will find controversial and up for debate. Officer Doe, this is NOT an attack on you, but I feel you should publicly explain what you were smoking in the bushes. Even if it was just a cigarette, throwing it into a persons bush is ridiculous. I’m in no way stereotyping all cops smoke weed, or all cops throw lit things into bushes, but the look on Jon Doe’s face and the other officer next to him smoking, looked sketchy. What do you think?
If you have nothing to hide, then show your ID? Maybe JD knew it was possible he was caught smoking on the side of a house in the bushes? Maybe like actual criminals, this is his defense mechanism to being caught for something. There’s a saying in poker, act strong and you’re usually weak. Refusing to tell people your name while telling them go fuck themselves sounds strong to me. What were you smoking, Johnny? How many people have you wrote tickets to for smoking and littering? I blame his parents, if parents would just teach their kids not to play with fire in bushes….
For all of you who thinks everyone hates cops, that’s not true. You just can’t handle a conversation that might go against your narrative. I welcome any apologists or hypocritical stereotypers to comment about how this officer did nothing wrong, I’ll be waiting with the crickets. Until then, for those who actually read the articles, please comment and share your opinion.
