#F=ckYourBadge Challenge

Today is “Independence Day” here in the United States of America. It’s a day where people recognize, or remember, the struggle those before us when through to relieve themselves from the control of a King. Or maybe they don’t and it’s more of a social/party/day off than anything else. Nevertheless, people back then wanted a better life, one where they had more freedom and say over their daily activities, and they literally fought to get it.

Today many of us want the same things our forefathers did so many years ago. We want to raise our families in peace without having to jump through the hoops of a government enterprise. Yet, even though many of us are going to parties, cookouts or gatherings to celebrate our freedom and independence, the truth is YOU are not free.

The truth is the United States government has become the most violent, oppressive government the world has ever seen. Sure Hitler, Stalin and Mao get the nods for most ruthless dictators of all time and have killed millions of people but the United States Government has harmed far more. The United States Government stretches to every corner of the world, with military bases all over the globe, enforcing their agenda. Furthermore, the United States Government cloaks it’s oppression in the names of democracy, freedom or claims of liberation. Yet, it’s all a lie and this government simply does more harm than good. PERIOD.

Of course the violence and control of the United States Government is not limited to just those abroad. At “home” we have the world’s largest Police State, we’re home to the world’s LARGEST PRISON population and so many laws are passed each year that not even the politicians who vote them in fully understand them or even read (let alone abide by) them.

This is where the police come into play. They are the enforcers of this oppressive government and they are where the rubber meets the road here at home. When I founded CopBlock.org in 2010 I told my good friend Pete Eyre that, “If we can get the police to stop enforcing the government’s laws than it won’t matter what lawmakers write down on paper. No one will enforce it.”

I still feel this way today but would add that in order to get the police to stop enforcing the government’s law we have to offer them the alternative. Those who work for the government as law enforcers need to realize that they don’t need the badge from the government to provide their services to us the people.

With that being said, I’d like to make a challenge to you, a “Fuck Your Badge Challenge.” If you’re challenged then you have to make a piece of content (text post, video or otherwise) explaining why you say “Fuck Your Badge.” Of course for this to get going someone had to start it, so my video is below.

 

Again, the purpose of this challenge is to let officers know that you don’t respect the badge, uniform or authority of their employer. That those items are not required to provide protection services to others. As noted above the law enforces of the United States of America are pawns being used to commit acts that would be deemed wrong/illegal for anyone else. While today we’re the ones saying, “FUCK YOUR BADGE” but if the officers really want to provide the service of protection in the right way, then they might want to adapt this policy as well.

Who will be the first cop to say “Fuck this badge!”
