Marines at Pro Cop Rally Agree Police are a Gang

Last weekend a blue line gang rally was held to show support for police in the wake of the controversial shootings in Fresno and throughout the country. While the participants and organizers might think they are making an effort to support the people they perceive protect them. What is actually happening is they are saying there is no problem. The gang culture in law enforcement is normal and they need to operate outside of the law in order to accomplish such a tough job.

The Fresno Police Department is known for its history of brutality and long-standing injustices. Even the officers who staff the department have spoken out about the corruption that has worked its way to the upper echelons of the police force. With officers guilty of pimping their girlfriends, running chop shopsdealing drugs, and participating in ceremonies claiming allegiance to flags or other sacred symbols (Badges, Blue Lines). It’s no wonder people everywhere are starting to see police as a gang.
