It appears that 35 people were arrested for peacefully sitting in the intersection outside of Quantico’s military base, where Bradley Manning is being held. It seems those employed by the state, to work as your servants on public matters, have forgotten your right to peacefully assemble. The Associated Press even quoted one base official saying, “We’re pleased that people were able to express their First Amendment rights in a manner that did not infringe upon base property.” Serious? I didn’t know the first amendment stated you have the right to protest where you’re told to, in the manner you’re told to, at the time you’re told to and under the careful eye of a heavy police presence – included officers from six agencies, mounted officers and tactical vehicles.
