Woman Arrested For No Reason

Key points:

Marijuana is legal in Alaska if in a personal residence.

She was not arrested for marijuana possession.

The officers were repeatedly asked to leave the premises. One complied. The other did not, but could not give a reason for his presence.

There is no evidence that she initiated physical contact with him.

The arresting officers never specify why she is under arrest. They claim it was “probably disorderly conduct” after they have cuffed her and removed her from the property.

They did not read her her rights.

They refused to explain the reason for the arrest to the bystanders as well.
