Police Chief Speaks as Judge, Jury, and Executioner

After the apparent murder of a small city police officer in Bardstown, Kentucky on May 25, 2013, the Police Chief (a former U. S. Marshal and a highly experienced, well-trained 25-year veteran of law enforcement) made the following public statement captured on local TV news video:

“I can assure you we won’t give up on this person or persons until we either have them in custody or in the front sight of one of our weapons,” [Chief] McCubbin said during a Saturday afternoon news conference. “I certainly hope the latter is the choice.”

This statement stands in stark contrast to the part of that Police Department’s Mission Statement that states ” … while maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity.”

Proving (again!) that the POLICE wrongly believe that they are the JUDGE, JURY, and EXECUTIONER !
