Gamer Gets Swatted

This post was received anonymously via CopBlock.org/Submit It details some men wearing badges and carrying firearms interrupting the gaming session of Jordan Mathewson. The video, uploaded on August 27th, already has over half a million views.

A new for some is to call in a threat and get the person they have a problem with “swatted.”

In this video, Jordan Mathewson is live streaming himself playing Counter Strike when a swat team comes in and throws him to the ground. Apparently someone had – as a joke – called the police and stated that shots had been fired at that location.

They spew profanity at him and ask him “what’s so funny boy?” Notice the fat cop steals his phone and starts looking through it…

Editors note: Mathewson says there were maybe 3,000 people watching the stream, which affords excellent transparency – hopefully in retrospect he realized that he should not have helped those who pointed firearms at him and barked commands terminate that stream.

On August 28th the video below was uploaded, in which Mathewson gave a recount of his uninvited visitors.

Mathewson disclosed that he’d been aware of similar events happening to other, that he and his colleagues have had pizzas and taxis sent to them but that this was “something a little more serious.”

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 05, 2014

The information below, attributed to NationalReport.net, was put-forth as truth, but thanks to many commenters, it’s now known to be satirical. Rather than remove that portion from this post, this update was added to show this learning process and give props to those who did speak out make that fact known.

Last week in Iowa 15-year-old Paul Horner was told he’d be caged for the next 25-years, for calling police employees and concocting a story similar to what got

According to NationalReport.net:

Defense lawyers told the courtroom that Horner, who goes by the gamertag BadAssDwg69, was upset after being repeatedly beaten by a fellow gamer at Battlefield 4. After obtaining the rival gamers information, prosecutors say Horner called police and reported a murder/hostage situation at the home. SWAT team then raided the house, shooting and critically injuring the “Livestreamer’s” father in the process. Following an investigation of the incident, Horner was charged as an adult, using provisions of the 2001 Patriot Act. Horner’s guilty charge stems from two counts of domestic terrorism, related to his manipulation of an enforcement response, and injuries to innocents resulting from those actions. – See more at: http://nationalreport.net/15-year-old-swatted-domestic-terrorism/#sthash.fvcrhQmA.dpuf

Perhaps those wearing badges should not be as quick to pull the trigger? If no real threat existed, and they are supposed “trained professionals” why was anyone shot??
