City Council Disbands Corrupt Police Department

The Oak Hill, FL City Council, headed by Mayor Mary Lee Cook, held a special meeting on Aug 2nd, 2011 involving the police department. The conclusion – the city council fired the entire Oak Hill police force.

It’s highly likely that a police force will be hired in the future (and even if not they’re already being patrolled by another gang – the sheriff’s), but if that happens the next officers in are going to know of the council’s previous actions.

Another thing that shocked me was how quickly the council was able to fire the entire police department. The mayor of Greenfield, MA stated to us that he has little oversight of the town’s police department. Though I bet his ‘oversight’ would increase if Greenfield police officers attempted to frame or stalk him (like this, this or this) like Oak Hill PD did to their Mayor.
