Cop Block Newsletter #004

The content below was sent via email to those who had signed-up for the Cop Block Newsletter* via CopBlock.org/Newsletter. It is reposted online to archive the content and make it easier for others, who choose not to share their email address, to stay in the loop about information thought pertinent.

Only 600 of the 3,000 or so who had signed-up for the Cop Block Newsletter received this email. We’ve always had issues with our servers bogging down when sending batches of emails via the plugin XYZ Newsletter so rather than cause issues for site visitors, opted to deactivate the plugin as we transition to a new solution.

Howdy friend,

It’s been a while since the last Cop Block Newsletter was sent – hopefully things are well.

Information and links thought worth sharing are below.

CENSORSHIP ATTEMPT BACKFIRES

Individuals involved with a couple Facebook pages – National Police Wives Association and Police Blotter – promoted a petition to classify Cop Block as a terrorist group. That attempt to censor was understandably met with many detractors.

The censorship petition boils down to:

Person A dislikes what Person B communicates, Person A asks Person C to deny Persons D, E, F, etc. the choice to interact with Person B, and to grant Person C the “legal” right to initiate violence against Person B.

It’s nonsensical. Though unsurprising. Transparency and the free exchange of ideas are enormously powerful liberating forces. They cause any thinking person to question the paradigm that says some have the “legal” right to aggress.

Those who know that “Badges don’t grant extra rights” demand the same liberty for others that they ask for themselves.

ALL COP BLOCK GEAR IS ON SALE

The entire Cop Block inventory is being moved to foster decentralization.

The sale on Cop Block gear ends on October 10th, 2014 at midnight, EST. At that time the store will be made defunct, though the high-res graphics used to create gear will always remain available for you to use.
