Here is an authentic antique Central Watch Service Badge. The Central Watch Service was a renowned armed merchant police force formed in 1898 in the City of Chicago. This badge is from that early era. Many of the Central Watch Officers were Chicago Police Officers that moonlighted for wealthy Merchants and intercepted burglars, robberies, and also provided fire watch by foot patrols of city blocks.
