California State Police Cap Piece - Blue - Factory Error Hat Badge
California State Police Cap Piece - Blue - Factory Error Hat Badge:
When the California State Police merged with the California Highway Patrol in 1995, many State Police personnel report having to surrender their old badges and cap pieces to CHP.
California Badge & Emblem tries to assist former California State Police personnel in building their career shadow boxes and restoring their old uniforms by replicating items from their agency that are no longer in existence. Recently, we asked one of our manufacturers to reproduce the Blue cap piece worn by the State police from the late 1950s until 1993, to assist former officers in restoring their campaign hats.
Unfortunately, the factory erred on the first production run and made the cap pieces flat instead of curved to meet the shape of the hat. They also placed the screw posts incorrectly, causing them to rise too high and look like a picket sign at a protest rally.
These factory errors are being offered for sale as novelty items for $30 each + $5 shipping to USA addresses only.
Plastic stand not included.
