Women were first allowed to join the Royal Canadian Mounted police in 1974. The first class graduated in 1975. For a few years they were issued a different hat than men.
This is a female mounties cap dated November 1979
Inside tag reads: WM Scully 19
Inside is excellent condition. Hat fabric and pinned on hat bagde in very good condition.
Plastic hat brim is damaged and brittle. The plastic band that went across the 2 buttons in front is brittle and broken/missing.
